WHATS IN FOR YOU?

AIESEC has a number of opportunities open to all the youth ( comprising of students as well as recent graduates) in higher institutions of learning, all which are supported by AIESEC in University of Ghana (AIESEC Legon). All these opportunities are geared towards the development and growth of proper leadership skills in the students and to enable them challenge themselves to reaching great potential in all their roles. All the opportunities the students are given align to their goals in life and encourage personal growth and development, something that we in AIESEC Legon are proud to ensure.

1. Global Internship Programme (GIP)

 

AIESEC's Global Internship Programme helps you find a placement in an organization in another country for 6-18 months. Through this internship, the student attains cultural understanding and challenging personal and professional development in a start-up, corporation or NGO. The Programme specifically targets skill development both to meet the education plan of the intern participating as well as to support filling a talent need for the company. Some of our GIP partners in AIESEC Legon are; AUTOPARTS, IMMEXCO GHANA LIMITED, and BBNZ.

Global Community Development Programme

 

This is an international volunteer abroad experience working on issue-based projects in a different community in another country, for example, education, health, culture, environment, and many others. This Programme enables the student to learn to manage a project, immerse yourself in an intense cultural learning environment, and appreciate the culture while positively impact the community.

It is usually 6 to 8 weeks, but can take longer depending on the student's interests and agreement with the Trainee Nominee. The airfare is in most cases covered by the student and accomodation covered by the hosting country. In this case, AIESEC Legon has an intern house for all its interns participating in any of the exchange programmes.

 

Leadership Programmes

AIESEC offers two main leadership programmes to the students that may be not either be based on exchange or based on exchange; the Team Member Programme and Team Leader Programme. It entails developing yourself in a team environment and in your campus or community. To increase youth impact in the world, society needs leaders who are entrepreneurial, culturally sensitive, socially responsible and take an active part in their own learning. To gain a holistic experience AIESEC offers you the opportunity to take on a leadership role on top of the opportunities for international volunteering and internships.
